Methven, New Zealand 2003

As I mentioned in last week's post, this Lost & Found image is from a trip to Methven in the South Island of New Zealand I did back in 2003 for a magazine in NYC; because the story was about skiing, it seemed important to try to capture some of the mountains around the town, even though the season wasn't right.

Lucky for me, it snowed just before I got there - so at least it looked the part a little. Unfortunately, I took this just as I got above the clouds that were hanging over the town that morning, and reached a flat part of the road where I could stop - only to discover that my tiny rental car had a flat tire that needed changing, before I could head back to Christchurch and catch my flight home!

Still - at least it made it this far up the hill. I've always liked this image, even if I had to jack up a car and change the tire to get it...!
