Thought I’d add a couple of images from a recent trip to Toronto and LA - this is the Fairbanks Centre for Motion Picture Studies, run by the Academy in Los Angeles. I spent the better part of a day there, researching…well, a project. Long story short, there once was a Kiwi named Rupert Julian, who I describe as New Zealand’s least-known world-famous Hollywood star; he moved over there almost exactly a century ago, and made films as an actor, writer, director and producer for a period of about 17 years. But does anyone in New Zealand know his name?
