Aw, man - there aren’t a lot of things that would prompt me to consider flying to Fremantle (a suburb of Perth, in Western Australia) - but a five day intensive workshop with Trent Parke and two other Magnum Photographers is seriously one of them. I met Trent and his wife Narelle Autio (an equally impressive photographer) in Wanganui last year, and they’re lovely - in fact one of their kids, who can’t be more than 8, is a pretty amazing photographer himself…and no wonder, really.
Dang. Seriously, if the NZ International Arts Festival wasn’t on here in Wellington, I’d be putting my air miles to good use…
