Just a quick photo from Waitangi Day in Porirua - I was there to photograph for Empress Stiltdance (those photos to follow, no doubt) but arrived a bit early, so I thought I’d get some testing in on my new 1DMkIV, and work out the best settings for the house lights in Te Rauparaha Arena.

This is the Esther Melody Band's bass player (sorry, didn't stop to give me his name) who ran up into the grandstand mid-concert and came flying back down to the stage.  Have to say, considering the size of the crowd, and the relatively young age of the band, I was really impressed with how professional they were - putting on a real show, even though there weren't many people inside on a glorious sunny day…
